The Cheat is grounded!

I have both a "Strongbad Sings" CD and a "Kick The Cheat" plush. I had a The Cheat hoodie that I gave to a girlfriend who subsequently gave it away to - wait for it - the guy she was cheating on me with. My brother still has his, and where he used to get stopped and complimented frequently, he now gets strange looks about the yellow blob on his black hoodie: few still recognize it, and fewer still take the time to.compliment it.

The whole thing went downhill when the flash bubble burst and it turns out that anyone could make a decent flash program that was about as entertaining. Homestar worked because it was simple, funny, and pretty much all other free, entertaining flash videos on the internet were shit or couldn't hold your attention for more than 5 minutes. It's a different internet now.

Quite so. If the brothers chaps had kept their updates they could have kept it going, as many internetters are a loyal bunch, especially for nostalgia's sake.

Yeah, the girlfriend thing was a tragic mess, but I got the last laugh (so to speak): she is now a nun, and I'm happily married, and we're still friends.

Wish I still had that hoodie though. It was damn comfy, and my brother's still looks in decent shape.

True story... When I was in 6th grade, I made the rave noise in class with my friends as a joke, with one of them doing "The system is down". The teacher didn't appreciate it and I was forced to spend an hour after school repeating that noise very loudly as some sick, cruel punishment.

That being said, at about 2:28 you can see that Strong Bad has a BMW Lighter!
